Circular hiking trail - Frauenwald - Thuringian Forest
This circular trail with its natural character occupies a special place among the hiking trails in the Thuringian Forest.
The circular trail leads through Germany's UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and impresses with its unique natural beauty in the Thuringian Forest.
The tour first leads to the barbecue area Schwarzwasser. This can be used after registering at the tourist information office. It is located on the Schwarzwasserwiese, a mountain meadow rich in flowers. The trail continues via the Gersheit to the Lenkrund café. Here it is possible to stop for a break. The trail then continues to the Frauenwald monument, the stag, via the Meisenhügel to Allzunah. The old railway embankment is a very good place to walk. Along the Rennsteig, past the Hotel Rennsteigh/Bunker Museum (refreshments available), you reach Fritz-Arno-Wagner-Strasse via Heimig.
