Views with a far-reaching view, that's what this 10.4-kilometer-long, rather easy hiking trail promises. It runs through the changing landscapes of dense mountain mixed and spruce forest as well as wide open spaces. Right at the beginning, the monument in Frauenwald reveals the long history of this typical Thuringian forest village.

Located on a ridge, you can enjoy wonderful all-round views up to the Bleßberg along the panorama ring. The imposing upper basin of the Goldisthal pumped storage power plant also shows - viewed from here - its gigantic size. A true symbiosis of nature and technology.

From the "Kleines Riesenhaupt", the view sweeps over the southern part of the village and clearly traces the ridge with small inclines.

Then you follow the "Herz und Nervenweg". This path was given his name because of the easy ascent and the therefore invigorating effect on the circulatory system.

Once in the valley, the trail climbs up again to the ponds at the "Bergbad" and continues to the Hungerquelle spring. Here you can treat yourself to a really good sip of real nature. Even today, Easter water is still fetched here.

After a short stretch you will reach the starting point at the Frauenwalder "Monument am Bohrstuhl" via the Wiesengrund at Lenkgrund.

If you are looking for peace and quiet and the health-giving climate of the forest here, you will experience it first hand. Especially in the heat and also in the wind, the forest rises protectively above its hikers.

On this hike you will encounter rather moderate slopes and inclines.

Author’s recommendation

Shortly after the start of the "Herz und Nervenweg", you can take a short detour to the Soldier's Fountain. It was inaugurated in 1937 in memory of the area where soldiers scooped water from a strong spring on this army road to Würzburg.
